Colt Autocross Car
The autocross Colt in its former life at the 1982 Sunriser Rally in Ohio. Tom Woodside and J. Jon Wickens in a photo from an old Direct Connection parts catolog. The proverbial 'basket case'. This is what the car looked like when we took possession in 1994. Doug Harvey puts prototype fiberglass hood through rigorous testing. More structure was later added.
First season was a development year. The car was run in black primer while we concentrated on getting the mechanical systems sorted out. Doug Harvey photo. In preparation for a real paint job - the Harco crew applies a coat of primer to the shell. This was early Spring 1995. Arick Rushing photo. The first event after the new paint. This was the day after we hauled the car home from the Pontiac Autometric Body Shop. Autometric did a beautiful job and the car has looked great ever since.

The autocross Colt at the 2000 BFG CenDiv Solo II at Oscoda - in the rain (great fun!!). This car has no side or back windows, no wipers and no defroster. I had a blast!! The Yokohama rain tires really work and this car is so much fun! Michael Clevenger photo.

Talon Road Car
A popular theme here, another flying car. 'Eagle 1' takes flight over a bridge on Detroit's Belle Isle. A photo from the January 2001 issue of SportsCar magazine. Photos and the accompanying story by James Heine recounted the events of the United States Road Rally Challenge (USRRC) from LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Team Harco's Harvey/ Mickle placed 3rd in the Badger Trails rally on Sunday, October 15th, 2000. The USRRC is considered Road Rallies' 'All-Star Game.' 1998 Johnny Appleseed Rally in Ohio.

Porsche 944
Body work in process. The nose sustained a fair amount of damage (part of the reason this car was so affordable). Additionally the right turn signal assembly was gone and the side marker light was pushed in. New parts - Konis shocks (and strut inserts in front), new rotors and new brake linings. (Right rear corner) Rebuilt calipers, new rotors, wheel spacers, new Konis, new fuel filter - all visible in this view.
(Right front corner) Same as rear though Koni strut inserts are not visible (and there's no fuel filter) This is what the inside of a Porsche transaxle looks like. A new ring and pinion set was installed and everything was reassembled and installed back in 'Herbie'. Lee Kesh (of the Lawrence Tech fabrication lab) deserves a good bit of the credit for helping with the rebuild. More bondo, sanding and paint. A new Porsche crest is ready to go on after the top coat goes on.
